Small Victories

Today, I (Kevin) had a small victory. I was having a bad day and knew that we had to get groceries. I was dreading this, but volunteered to go to the market anyway. The day had a sudden change for the better and I found a few items that made me smile.

In the states, we would usually buy the cheap knock off cereals. My favorite was the Coco Crispy kind. Well to my surprise, I found the African cheapo version pictured here. (The milk here comes from a box so its not exact, but its close).
Then the big one....Betty Crocker chocolate cake mix!!! Ice cream, french fries, and chocolate cake are the basic food groups in our house. So this one was huge. I ran home as quickly as possible and tonight we dined on some great pasta, and of course chocolate cake.

Yay for familiar food! We found Old El Paso taco shells and salsa in England. Weird juxtaposition. I think Betty Crocker in Africa is weirder. But GREAT!!! Yay for chocolate cake! What did you do for icing?

For the icing we made incredible homemade chocolate icing with Hershey's cocoa powder!
