As requested: Tortilla recipe

Some of you have made the request for the tortilla recipe. This is nothing special, and if you know of something better, please send it our way. Hope it works out for you....

Tortillas
2 cups flour
1/4 cup shortening or margarine
1 tsp salt
1/2 cup lukewarm water

Combine flour and salt. Cut in the margarine and mix well. Gradually add the water and mix till you have a stiff dough. Use your hands, this works best. (Tip...If you want dough that is a little easier to handle, put the dough in bowl and cover it tightly. Then place it in the fridge for a couple of hours. This is not a necessity, just makes it more manageable)

When you are ready to make the tortillas, seperate the dough into equal parts. These measurements will make 8 large tortillas or about 12 smaller 8-inch sized ones. Flour the surface you're going to put the tortillas on. (this prevents the dough from sticking to the pin) Roll the tortillas as thin as possible, and use a hot non-greased griddle or pan. Now wait about 20 seconds or until you see them begin to freckle. Turn and repeat on the other side.

Viva tortillas!!!
