Eid Al Adha عيد الأضحى

Today was a major holiday here. Most families here, if they can afford one, buy a sheep/ram and sacrifice it. Some people sadly believe that this is for the forgiveness of their sins. This morning we were out on the balcony of our apartment and got some first hand shots of this happening. It was a strange feeling. It was overcast and kinda rainy. Almost every roof top had families sacrificing their sheep/ram. Below are some pictures...scroll at your own risk



Here you see some guys leading the sheep into the building, then to the roof.

This is the end result. The man slits the throat and lets the ram bleed til he is dead. Then the sheep/ram is hung up, skinned, and later butchered so the family can eat every part of the sheep/ram. EVERY part.
